Exciting Adoption news

Wild Horse Connection is thrilled to announce that three of the rescued 2020 foals have been adopted - all together. A lovely family came out to LBL Equine Rescue to meet Survivor. The husband beat cancer and is a “survivor” as well. And when he met him, they clicked!

One of their daughters fell in love with Carter (now Milo). When WHC’s president Corenna said she’d like to see Carter and Sinclair go together, they were fine with that!

All three are now in their new home, exploring and learning. WHC is so grateful to see them in a loving home where they will grow and thrive together.

Two more of the recent rescue foals are healthy and ready to be adopted into forever homes. Eley and Jahan, both almost six months old are two young males who both lost their dams due to tragic vehicle accidents. They are both going to grow into stunning horses. Horse of the Month at LBL Equine Rescue

Merlin here - and while I have never been to Camelot, I have been mistaken for Barbie’s dream Horse!

I am a handsome Palomino Quarter Horse and came into rescue at LBL Equine Rescue as an 18 year old stallion. Due to the rules here, I had to have surgery. For some reason the people here at LBL were worried about this surgery at my advanced age. I could have saved them the concern, I may not be a young stud anymore, but I am still pretty strong for an old guy.

That being said, I do have a condition called ring bone which causes me some stiffness and discomfort in one of my front legs. I mostly get around great, and with a little anti-inflammatory prior to getting a hoof trim, I do fine. I can no longer be ridden, but I do love going for walks on a halter, being turned out and being groomed.I also enjoy socializing with other horses, mostly over the panels separating our spaces for now, and I’m sure I’d do fine turned out with other level-headed horses. I do still like mares, not quite like I used to, but old guys can still dream.

WHPL Updates

Wild Horse Preservation League (WHPL) is collecting dart certificates from AWHC volunteer darters who will help treat mares in the Pine Nut HMA. Documenters are out in the field collecting photos to update the database as the agreement gets closer to being signed and put into effect. Cathy Cottrill, a Director for WHPL, has taken the lead in this project. AWHC will be supplying the PZP and adjuvant for the project and Cathy has negotiated other supplies such as darts, CO2, range finders, etc. from the BLM.
