Reni

Reni was adopted some months ago, but due to no fault of her own she has returned to LBL. She is a 5-year-old Quarter horse and stands approximately 14 hands. She is halter trained, stands for the farrier, and loads but does not tie. Reni is a sweet, bubbly mare who loves attention. She can be testy but once she realizes who is boss, she backs down quickly. She has more whoa then go currently. Reni has had 5 rides under saddle and is still learning. She would be best suited with an experienced, confident rider. If you are interested in Reni, please feel free to email us at: LBLEquineRescue@gmail.com

Keona’s Story

Here at LBL, we want to thank all of you who joined Keona’s journey over the past month. It brought so many of us together, the excitement and then celebrating the birth of her beautiful filly born May 6, 2021. Sadly, we lost Keona’s baby on May 7, 2021. We are devastated and heartbroken. It is difficult to find the words, because the sadness is so overwhelming. There has been much speculation as to what was wrong with Keona’s baby and some of you noticed it right away, as some of us at LBL shared those concerns privately. We are an optimistic group and try to be positive, and we were so excited to welcome Keona’s baby.

So yes, little Willow, who we named privately after humane euthanasia, was a Lethal WhiteOvero. LWO is a death sentence for all foals, there is absolutely nothing that could have been done to save her. When she crashed, she crashed hard, and it was awful watching her suffer. Our mobile vet came out, examined Willow, and ended her suffering. Rest easy sweet girl

Congrats to Wild Horse Preservation League Board Members

At a recent meeting, WHPL held elections and the volunteers at WHPL have elected Cathy Cottrill as their new President, Diane Buckland as VP, Sabra Weiss as Secretary,  and John Smith as treasurer. We congratulate these folks and thank them for their service to WHPL and the wild horses! In addition to the Board of Directors, Marty Wright, Beth Palmer and Dorothy Nylen were appointed as Directors for the organization. These folks run the nuts and bolts of the WHPL mission and are equally appreciated!
