Happy Tails Rescue

Fantastic Rescue by Least Resistance Training Concepts

In early September, the Technical Large Animal Rescue (TLAR) crew, trained by Least Resistance Training Concepts, was notified about a filly on the range with wire wrapped around her leg. The team quickly jumped into action. They located the filly and her herd.  Sometimes, treatment in the field is the way to go, but since the wire looked to be very embedded, a decision was made to take her to a facility at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center. Since she was young, they decided that moving the filly and her mom for off range treatment was the safest. The team put up panels to move the filly and her mom and an “auntie.” The mom was too hesitant to get in the trailer, but the filly and her “auntie” loaded safely. When arriving at the facility, the filly had the wire removed and the leg was treated. After this treatment, the filly and mare were returned to the range. Their band was located and all were reunited!
