February Happy Tails Rescue

Happy Tails Rescue

This month, Virginia Range volunteer and Technical Large Animal Rescue team member, Cathy Cottrill, help to relocate a bachelor stallion identified as Iroquois. The relocation went smoothly and the youngster trotted off to join a bachelor band. Check out the videos below to see him come off the trailer and then join a bachelor band nearby!

How to join the rescue team

Have you been thinking about joining LRTC’s Technical Large Animal Rescue (TLAR) team? Are you interested in emergency techniques for handling horses and other large animals for evacuations, removals from highways and escaped estrays? Check out the details of the 2020 training courses here: http://whmentors.org/training/tlar_2020.html. Emergency Horse & Livestock Handling is offered in April and August. The TLAR course for April is full but September still has lots of room! It sounds far away, but gives you plenty of time to take and complete the prerequisite and required online courses
